This is the perfect place to go for a relaxing getaway. The cabin sits on a quiet 15-acre lake filled with all types of fish and wildlife with a dock right in your backyard. You can easily take the paddle boat or kayaks to go fishing in the lake, with life jackets included in the shed. This cabin is even PET FRIENDLY if you're looking for a vacation rental that allows your furry friends to join the fun. We have strong WiFi so you can stay connected while you're here in case you need to work remotely, keep your kids busy, or watch a movie by the fireplace. We have a TV with Firestick so you can log in to your Netflix, Hulu, etc accounts. A huge covered porch with live edge picnic table and rocker bench, Adirondack chairs, and egg swing means you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the lake while watching your kids and dog play in the yard. Bikes in the shed are perfect to take to the bike path at Reed City, just a 10 min drive away. Ashton General Store just a couple miles away has a great variety of steaks, fresh seafood, firewood and other staples.

The cabin itself is full of vintage charm including knotty pine walls and an authentic 1950s oven and fridge. We tried to think of everything you may need for a great stay including linens, beach towels, kitchen and laundry supplies, dog crate, and most importantly, coffee!

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and second bedroom with a full sized bottom bed and top twin sized bunk bed, plus a pull-out couch in the living room that makes it perfect for bringing the family or multiple friends.

The cabin is remote and toward the end of a private road past some trailer homes. Don’t judge a book by its surroundings; you will appreciate the serenity once you arrive.
We are in nature, so please remember that although we are clean, some uninvited insects may try to sneak in, and it's quite possible that you may see wildlife such as squirrels, rabbits, turtles, deer, maybe even the eagle and swans.

*** Please SLOW DOWN to 10 MPH or less when driving on the private dirt road around the lake. We and the neighbors have spent significant time and funds to repair this road and we need it to last. There are children living on the road and lots of animals in the area. Be alert for deer near or on the roads especially around dusk. The road can get muddy and bumpy in rain and snow.

Please do not go onto other people's property or docks.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $25.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $25.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

A valid government identification is due at the time of check-in. You must be at least 21 years of age or older in order to book. As the primary booker, you are fully responsible for the actions of all of your guests and are responsible for any damages resulting from any member of your party. There will be a $200 remediation fee if there is smoking of any kind within the cabin, any source of FALSE bedbug claims, OR any associated fees due to emergency plumbing calls associated with use of any product other than toilet paper. Please respect the fact that we live in a community with full-time residents. Access Even though you can check in at anytime after 4pm since the cabin is code access, I usually sleep 10pm-7am, so I recommend checking in before 10PM in case you have any questions. If you have any questions, please reread the check-in instructions. All of my units have high traffic and these instructions have worked for many others, so everything you should need to know is in there. If you have any questions that are non-urgent, please send them through Airbnb. If you have an emergency 10pm-7am, feel free to call me, my phone is usually on, but in focus mode. To bypass focus mode, call me 2x within 2 minutes or select bypass focus mode in a text. If the emergency is a noise complaint from 11pm-7am, feel free to report it to the police. ** We do have a strict cancellation policy, so we highly recommend that you purchase "cancel for any reason" travel insurance. While we do our best to ensure that all amenities are functional for guests, occasionally things break or stop working for reasons beyond our control. Timely check-ins help to allow time for any last minute issues to be addressed. If a problem arises with any amenity such as appliances, fixtures, etc. during your stay, we must be notified immediately to arrange for repair or replacement. We will make every effort to make repairs as reasonably fast as possible. If a plumbing fixture or other system fails making a stay and cannot be repaired in a timely manner, we will attempt to rectify the situation as best we can, including an attempt to locate an alternate place to stay.
